Dear Sir.
I have worked for Your Company for Fifteen Years Now. In the Beginning, The company did care about the employees. They made sure that Employees were comfortably Housed and Paid, above Average Wages.
We were Encouraged, to Have Ideas…. And to share them with our Supervisors. When the Ideas were considered to be of Great Merit, and full of Possibility…. The company worked Hard, in order to institute the changes, to Make Production Improvements.
Supervisors were always Knowledgeable. They knew what they had to do. They cared to make sure that Employees always did their Best. That Employees were encouraged to have Good Presentation of themselves, and Punctuality of Presenting themselves at work each day! Supervisors were encouraged to know each Person, who was on their Team. They remembered Birthdays, and Anniversaries…. and knew about the Employee’s families! Supervisors cared enough to enquire, about the cause, when a Person’s work, was not done well, or their appearance was Less than usually acceptable!
However. Upon the Death of the Previous Manager…. The company became Estranged, from the Employees, and from Customers, who were accustomed to High Standards. The New Manager, did not care to keep to the Line which His Predecessor had Established. His only Aim, became High Profit, and Mechanisation. Half of the Employees were Sacked. Their Homes were Sold for a Profit…. Leaving them to be Homeless! Pure Profit Orientation has Meant a Lot of Waste has become a Large Dump, to the Rear of the Factory Property.
I am writing to YOU, Today, to tell you of my Immediate Resignation. I can No Longer Work for a Company, which has No Conscience. No Metre of Care- for either Standards, or Employees. I will collect my Pay, in the usual fashion. And I will contact the company accountant, in order to receive the Retirement Funds allotted to me.
Yours Sincerely. Elizabeth Court!
